"Cat Deluxe at Night" brings together the practices of Mathilda Läckberg Holmquist and Elin Meijer in an immersive exhibition of photography and textile.
Rooted in a shared photographic archive from 2009–2012, the project revisits the formative years of adolescence through previously undisclosed, private photographs that remained forgotten for years. Marked by the aesthetics and artefacts of the era, the exhibition moves through past and current relationships, fading memories and grand dreams.
Paying homage to the intensity of youth, "Cat Deluxe at Night" flirts with the collective memory of teenage life while touching on small-town mentality, the weight of “Jantelagen”, tragicomedy, and kitsch.
Through a seamless interplay of photography, textile and objects, "Cat Deluxe at Night" unfolds as an act of self-reflection. As you move through the preserved fragments of the artists' youth, you are invited to reflect on your own journey. What became of the grand dreams and goals you held back then? What did you leave behind, and what still lingers?

→ Mathilda Läckberg Holmquist (b. 1993, Trollhättan) is a visual artist primarily working with photography.
Her practice centres on concepts rooted in her personal sphere and archives, bringing them into dialogue with collective memories. Working within a hyper-digital aesthetic, Holmquist combines photography with objects and materials that challenge conventional modes of display and framing. She holds a BA in Photography from HDK-Valand (2021-2024) and has also studied at OCAD University in Toronto (2023), Göteborgs Konstskola (2019-2020), and Gamleby Folkhögskola (2018-2019). In February 2026, she presented her first solo exhibition, “That’s Amore”, at Konsthallen Trollhättan.
→ Elin Meijer (b. 1993, Trollhättan) is a Swedish designer and artist. She received her MFA in Fashion Design from The Swedish School of Textiles in Borås in 2021 and has since focused primarily on costume design, creating stage looks for artists.
Her practice centres on experimental craft techniques, unconventional materials, and upcycling, resulting in wearable works that have appeared on major stages, in music videos, on red carpets, and in magazines. Meijer has received several grants and awards for her work, including the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s Working Grant (2022, 2026) and Trollhättan City’s Cultural Scholarship (2021).
